Methylated B-vitamins use active or ready-to-use forms of nutrients such as folate and B12. That is a format choice, not a guarantee that the product is better for everyone.
Some people prefer these forms because the label looks more specific or because they want a formula built around active ingredients. Even then, the full product still needs checking, especially if you already use a multivitamin or another B-complex.
The ingredient list matters more than the wording on the front. A methylated formula can still repeat nutrients you already get from other products, and that overlap is the main thing to avoid.
If there is a clear reason to look for active forms, it should be easy to explain. If not, a standard formula is often enough for an ordinary routine.
