Cleansing milk is usually the easier fit for skin that dries out, tightens, or reacts to harsher products. It is a softer choice than many foaming cleansers, so people often use it when they want the skin to feel calm rather than deeply stripped after washing.
It works well for light makeup, sunscreen, and everyday buildup when it is massaged in properly and rinsed off or removed carefully. If the makeup is waterproof or the sunscreen is very durable, a cleansing milk may feel too gentle on its own. A two-step cleanse or a slightly stronger evening product may work better.
The real test is how the skin feels after a few uses. If tightness drops, redness settles, and the face still feels clean, the choice is probably right. If the skin starts to feel greasy or the makeup does not come off well, the product may be too mild for your routine.
If nearly every cleanser stings, it is worth looking at the rest of the routine too. Sometimes the issue is not cleansing alone, but a combination of too many active products.
