Sunscreen is the everyday product most people mean when they talk about sun protection. It helps reduce the skin damage that comes from UVA and UVB exposure, and it is especially useful on the face, during outdoor time, and whenever other active ingredients make the skin more reactive.
The two main things to compare are SPF and broad-spectrum coverage. SPF 30 is enough for many daily situations, while SPF 50 is a common choice if the skin burns easily or the exposure is longer. Broad-spectrum means the product covers both UVA and UVB, which is what most people want for regular use.
In practice, the best sunscreen is the one you apply generously and keep using. Reapply during the day if you are outside for long periods, swimming, or sweating a lot. Small spots like the ears, hairline, and neck are easy to miss.
If the product stings the eyes, pills under other products, or feels too heavy to use well, the formula may need changing. Sunscreen only helps if it fits the routine closely enough to stay in use.
