Dentures and orthodontic care: clean feels comfortable

Dentures and orthodontic appliances are easier to live with when cleaning is a clear part of the day. Dentures pick up plaque and staining easily, and they need the right tools to stay comfortable and usable.

Orthodontic appliances leave more places for food to collect, so small brushes and interdental tools can make a big difference. When brackets or wires rub the lining, orthodontic wax can help the sore spot calm down.

The goal is not harsh cleaning. Too much force or the wrong product can damage a denture or make an appliance harder to wear, even when the intention is simply to keep it clean.

If a denture starts to press, a sore appears, or the appliance suddenly feels different, it is worth checking the fit. Small adjustments early usually prevent bigger problems later.
