For most people, a fluoride toothpaste is the sensible everyday choice because it supports the main job of keeping teeth protected from decay. The best toothpaste does not need to feel special if it is comfortable enough to use twice a day.
If teeth are sensitive, a toothpaste for sensitivity may make cold, sweets, or brushing feel easier. If the mouth is prone to irritation, a milder formula can be a better fit than one that foams strongly or tastes intense.
For children, the amount and fluoride level should match the age. In everyday use, a small amount is often enough, and there is usually no need to rinse the mouth heavily after brushing.
If cavities keep appearing, gums bleed often, or the mouth feels sore no matter what toothpaste is used, the answer is not just another tube. Technique and overall oral care matter at least as much.
